I have taptalk because another forum uses it, but i prefer not to use it. Much easier to just use the mobile version offered by the website. I only use taptalk when forced to by the site.
  2. I've never looked into the engine compartment of a 2018 (enough to identify the transmission dipstick, but from what ive read in the owners manual (page 269) indicates it's in the same location as my 3.5L MKX. If you're close to your dealer, I'd stop and ask the service manager to show you how to check the tranny fluid. The owners manual shows it to just grab and pull, no disassembly needed. If it's different, let him figure it out. They love doing things like this. On my MKX 3.5, its to the left (viewing engine) and slightly in front of the air box. Yellow cap on top. Easy to get to. I'm wondering if yours was mounted in tbe wrong location?
  3. Wiggle it. Does it look like this video ?
  4. I have one (think it's just one, but not certain) that pops up three or four times a year (intermittent) while driving. If I continue to drive, it usually goes out in 1/2 hour. But its obviously nearing the end. The sensors are inplanted with ten-year batteries (minimum). I have an 09 MKX and it started three years ago. Ford garage said they usually run the codes and replace one at a time. (They also offer the Chineese version as most people freak at the cost). Talking to the service rep confidentially, said when one goes, the others follow in a year or two, but not a major repair item. (Reason I decided to have them all replaced with new tires). Don't recall MactFordEdge mention he replaced any in half million miles or so, I wouldn't worry about it until one starts to wink out. If it acts like mine, they always come back and turn back on (but act up again).
  5. Popping when turning usually indicates s frozen upper strut bearing (which I don't believe you replaced). Have you examined the struts and strut bearings?
  6. I probably already know the answer, but have you maintained proper tire pressure? Carry heavy loads in the cargo area? Springs equal height? All bushings good? What type, brand tires? (Doesn't affect, just curious).
  7. Just ordered a set of Pirelli Scorpion Verde's today. Had them match TireRack price -$199/tire. Rebate of $70 + 100 for Ford Credit + one year to pay with no interest). Also replacing the pressure sender units (keeping the same straps to save money, those little puppies ard expensive (I went with OEM, not Chineese) but I'm getting info screen alerts, and it's over their battery life limit) and 4-wheel alignment. Also having them steel brush the rims and use rim sealer. Service manger came out and told me he was running the Scorpion Verdes on his Expedion and loved them. Said on a scale of 1-10 he rated them a 10. Put on next week.
  8. Be nice if we had a system the Cadillac pioneered where they used an infrared vision system that allowed you to look through the fog. Not a problem around here but really useful on the west coast (and other areas prone to fog where's it common). By the time you see the rear fog light its already crunch time.
  9. Ahhhh, got it. Thats what I thought. It's a piece if junk that can't hold a charge. lol (I'm guilty of doing the same thing)
  10. Thought that too. Like I said, "kind of look like". Just can't get a good look at it. https://www.bac-mono.com/ I wondered if it was street legal without fenders?
  11. Wonder if a dirty throttle body could be worth considering.

  13. Try a battery saver reset just to see if the system went back into "delivery" mode. 1. Turn key on but don't start the engine. 2. Press and release the brake pedal 5 times then turn the emergency blinkers on and off twice. 3. This should reset the system to normal if that's the problem.
  14. It's illegal everywhere in the US. Lighting is specifically and meticulously laid out in FMVSS 108 and has been adopted by every state DOT. Therefore, it's law. Locations, luminosity, color and beam pattern are all specified, exactly. Every light fixture requires extensive testing and must be certified to DOT. (Hence the letters "DOT" on every fixture). Friend of mine, who's business was slow, decided to make 3rd brake light fixtures for the aftermarket. This was back when they were just coming out. He ended up spending $18k to hire a professional designer and over $50 in testing to get his little fixture certified. (This in in 1980 dollars). The machine that designs the little ridges in the lens is very special and only a few existed in the US at the time. (Probably still so as not exactly a hot item). Anyway it's a big deal. Technically, any altercation of exterior lighting can get you a ticket. I have another friend who's a county mounty. (Don’t tell him i called him that, hates the expression). He says he only pulls over drivers and issues citations if their lights are causing glare to oncoming drivers. At that time he requires the operator to get certification from a professional service department that the lights are legal and properly aimed. (Most aftermarket will not pass.) As he knows full well the operator is making improper modifications to his car, he checks for window tint, exhaust noise and lift kit (he measures the bumper height and calls dispatch so they can look up. That sort of stuff (besides checking for impairment, drugs, etc.) He would definitely pull you over for white lighting on the rear). Says most of the cops around here do this and the city cops ••• love to write tickets for this, especially lift kits •••. One of the local city cops wrote a ticket for a little old lady for illegal headlights (was her grandson's car). Think twice about going this way. It's expensive.
  15. According to this site it's compatible https://phoenixautomotiveinc.com/products/px6-six-core-12-1-android-9-navigation-radio-for-ford-edge-2011-2014
  16. I start by putting the radio into diagnostics and see what codes show up. To enter the audio unit self-diagnostic mode, the audio unit must be turned on and in radio tuner mode (AM/FM). To enter the following tests, press the desired preset button while in the speaker walk-around test or while in the audio unit self-diagnostic mode. The self-diagnostic mode has the following functions available: Preset button 1 = On-Demand Self-Test. This button runs the on-demand self-test. Pressing the MENU DOWN button allows scrolling of any DTCs found during the test while in this menu. Preset button 2 = Display Continuous DTCs. This button enables viewing of any continuous DTCs that have been logged. Pressing the MENU UP button allows scrolling of any DTCs while in this menu. While continuous DTCs are being displayed, pressing the EJECT button will clear all present DTCs. Preset button 3 = Signal Strength Test. This button displays the signal strength. Preset button 4 = Software Version Display. This button displays the audio unit software version. Pressing the MENU UP button allows scrolling of all audio subsystem software versions while in this menu. Preset button 5 = Display Test. This test illuminates all the display segments for 5 seconds, then turns all segments off. Preset button 6 = Configuration Status. This button enables audio unit configuration status. Pressing the MENU button displays the ACM part number while in this menu. To exit the self-diagnostic mode, turn the audio unit off or turn the key OFF. If the concern remains and the fault is not detected, GO to Symptom Chart - Audio System to continue diagnostics.
  17. I've I've decided to replace my tires and have been thinking of these as well (as well as Uniroyal Tiger Paws). Why don't you buy a set and let me know if they're and good? ..... (heh, heh, heh).
  18. Are you still liking the Tiger Paws? I have two tires with leaks, decided to buy new tires. And besides, need new pressure senders (batteries starting to malfunction). Considering Uniroyals and Scorpion's.
  19. First thing is to pull the codes. You xant be certain about anything until you do. Code readers that plug into a laptop is cheap enough. This is the one i bought: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B081VQVD3F/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_7DA46B7PF15FJACAR5A2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 If the module is faulty, it will set a code (or codes). I'd guess based on your description that the module is faulty. If so, it runs around $100.
  20. You check your fuses? Such as fuse 29 and others that relate to the radio and instrument panel.
  21. Difficult to say. Kind of looks like a BAC Mono.
  22. ... never seen so many men concerned about what their nuts look like ....
  23. How about this one? https://www.ebay.com/itm/Car-Sun-Visor-Extension-Extender-Shield-Front-Side-Window-Shade-Anti-Glare-NEW-/164493205046?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49292

    Alternator

Alternator can fail on any car, any time. Cars break. All cars break. I have a 2009 MKX and still carry a full PremiumCARE extended warranty on it. (Last year they replaced the PTU). If it will help, here's how to get a Ford warranty for less. Google "Ford extended warranty " and fill in make, model info. You'll find Ford dealers online offering a warranty at hundred$ below your local dealer. (IT DOESN'T MATTER WHO YOU BUY THE WARRANTY FROM). Once you find the best price, print out the quote, call your local dealer and make an appointment with the business manager. Tell him your thinking of buying a warranty. At the meeting, he'll go through his spiel on alm the various plans offered. PremiumCARE is the best, covers everything. At the end he'll tell you his cost. (Its an opening offer). The powertrain is also worth considering, covers the entire powertrain and hundreds less. At this point you tell him you were looking online and have a quote from another Ford dealership. Hand him the printout. Then ask if he will match. • He will. Then ask if he can better the deal. He'll ask what do you mean. Tell him you would like ZERO deductible - if you have all warranty work done at their dealership. He'll run some numbers and agree. Lastly he'll need $100 for an inspection. This us normal procedure. Tell him you just had a oil change in their service department, a "The Works" service. This service includes a full inspection. He should check with their service department and see what they think. If you have your car serviced there, it shouldn't be a problem. But this not guaranteed. (Of course you will have actually needed to have had a "The Works" done recently before you do this). $40 for needed work and covers the required $100 inspection. On a previous renewal, I elected to pay the $100 and get a full inspection, just for my own curiosity. But I did stipulate that the inspection be done by the service manager (they are always the best). He was thourgh and found only one small item, not worth repairing. (Piece of mind).
  25. Not throygh Ford (safety issue). This will work however: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Clip-on-Car-Truck-Shade-Sun-Visor-Extension-Driving-Glare-Mirror-Window-/373112982361?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49292
