  1. Seems to be a very limited recall, only a one day's built vehicles. Summary Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2018 Ford Edge, Lincoln MKX, 2019 Ford Flex, and Lincoln MKT vehicles. The power supply cables at the starter and the alternator may not have been properly secured, possibly resulting in an electrical arc. Remedy Ford will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the alternator and starter motor power supply cables to verify that they are properly secured, correcting them as necessary, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin September 17, 2018. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford’s number for this recall is 18S25. AFFECTED VEHICLES Vehicle Model Year Assembly Plant Build Date 2018 Edge & MKX, 2019 Flex & MKT built on Oakville May 29, 2018 Affected vehicles are identified in OASIS and FSA VIN Lists. REASON FOR THIS SAFETY RECALL In some of the affected vehicles, the generator and starter motor cable nuts may be cross-threaded or may not be fully tightened. An improperly fastened generator or starter motor cable nut increases the potential for electrical arcing, which could lead to a fire. The customer may experience a warning message in the instrument cluster or a vehicle no-start condition. SERVICE ACTION Before demonstrating or delivering any new in-stock vehicles involved in this safety recall, dealers are to inspect the generator and starter motor cable nuts and studs for damage, and verify that the nuts are properly torqued using a torque wrench. This service must be performed on all affected vehicles at no charge to the vehicle owner. Details in this link.
  2. @Chunx4t, thanks for the update.
  3. The 2019 Titanium's optional 20" wheels in my opinion look better.
  4. ForScan showing an error is normal because the last part is a checksum, so when changing any other part it will recalculate it & gives the error warning. So that is normal when doing these mods.
  5. Did you see the Explorer ForScan mods sheet? The 2011-2014 Edge is very close to the 2011-2015 Explorer. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1JHLK2oCBe-E5om9VNeY6e3NwboO9Em0dDBZIgUVyGxc/htmlview#gid=0 https://www.icloud.com/numbers/0AtiYU-yJ4Nrfyfuzp-Mi0l8A#FORScan_2011-2018_Explorers
  6. Not much. But you'll always now it .
  7. Yes, of the line but then that's all the power you get. There is no top end power. When first driving the MKC, it felt really strong in traffic city driving, then I decided to see how much more power it got and found that beyond ~4K RPM there is no more additional power. It's flat. I had more than 1 MKC rentals with the 2.3, they were all the same. They were AWD by the way, just like my MKX was.
  8. I drove a 2015 MKC with the 2.3L Turbo for a week when I had the 2011 MKX 3.7L, the MKX's 3.7L felt more powerful and more refined, can't imagine how the 2.0L would be in a larger vehicle! But then again, that is why there is the "ST".
  9. Never heard of such an issue. Though there was supposed to be a feature with the Ford electric powered steering that compensated for wind drift, but never heard of this before, it goes against safer & more economical driving. If it is still under warranty, then just go to the dealer. Otherwise, first try as recommended above. Then try rotating the wheels (left/right) to make sure that it is not due to the new tyres. Finally, an alignment at a different shop. That's what I would do.
  10. AFFECTED VEHICLES Vehicle Model Year Assembly Plant Build Dates Edge 2018 Oakville May 3, 2017 through March 8, 2018 Expedition 2018 Kentucky March 14, 2017 through March 19, 2018 REASON FOR THIS PROGRAM In all of the affected vehicles, an error in Powertrain Control Module (PCM) software or Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) configuration will prevent the Automatic Engine Idle Shutdown feature from automatically shutting down the ignition and engine after it has been idling for an extended period. The ignition and engine can still be shut down using the push button ignition switch. SERVICE ACTION Before demonstrating or delivering any new in-stock vehicles involved in this program, dealers are to reprogram the PCM on Edge vehicles using Integrated Diagnostic Software (IDS) version 110.01 or higher and reconfigure the IPC on Expedition vehicles using the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS). This service must be performed on all affected vehicles at no charge to the vehicle owner. Details in this link.
  11. Welcome to the forums 12amNSX & gspald.
  12. As far as i know, on the stock Navigation shows in the cluster. But I do not have Sync 3 and have no experience with it. Even though my Edge is a 2016, being an Export model, it has Sync 2 (MyFord Touch). Sync 3 came to our region starting with 2017 models.
  13. You will need to modify the As-Built Data (ABD) for the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC). Refer to this sheet mod for the fusion at the bottom under "Dual Screen Cluster "Right Screen Modifications".
  14. I have done this around 2 weeks ago, but just got around to posting it. I replaced the dead pedal with one matching the Aluminum Brake & Accelerator pedals. I found this (item#282805266654) in eBay & requested the seller to sell only the dead pedal since the Sport already has Aluminum brake & accelerator pedals from the factory. Very simple to install, just pry out the old one (pull it straight out), transfer the three (3) pushpins from the old dead pedal to the new one & install (push in) the new one. One of the pins did not come out with the old dead pedal so I had to remove from the floor separately.
  15. There was a thread about it, but note that also the side taillights are also different. They will also need to be replaced to match the illumination of the center light.
  16. During the 1st generation, 2007-2010, the Edge & MKX only had the 3.5L engine while the Mazda CX-9 had the 3.7L with more torque, a different transmission and the Mazda is a 3 row crossover that is bigger & heavier than the Edge. So it does put more load on the PTU.
  17. What was the original value? Tried it on a 2014 Limited Edge but it didn't work. Original value was "3".
  18. Yes, you only use the reservoir cap to fill coolant. It is an expansion tank system where the whole cooling system including the reservoir are under pressure.
  19. This is the thread: https://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/22064-smart-charging-usb-ports/
  20. From your linked article, this PTU originally debuted on the Jeep Cherokee, searching online and there seems to be a similar story with PTU failures! https://www.google.com/search?q=2014+jeep+cherokee+power+transfer+unit+problems&oq=2014+jeep+Cherokee+ptu&aqs=chrome.2.69i57j0l2.10060j0j4&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8 Now, again I suggest a vote type survey on this forum, just remember that people come to forums only when they have problems, so if out of 500k sold Edges (as an example) , and 100 had PTU, you'll see 100 posts of PTU problems, but the rest will not post about not having an issue. Also, from that Jeep PTU issues, this model only came in 2014, while the Edge from 2007.
  21. I suggest to make a survey amongst forum members to get an idea of the percentage of those who had an issue with the PTU. Same for the other "common" issues. Note that for the PTU, Ford did offer an extended warranty (10Y/120K Miles) for the Middle East where there is much higher temperatures & high speed driving in addition to crossovers being marketed as SUVs and driving on sand dunes is much more common than in the US. Also replacement PTUs came with drain plugs & on 2013 or 2014 all PTUs came with drain plugs from the factory. Meaning Ford was trying to address the issue. If I'm not mistaken, there are also at least 6 or 7 versions (incremental improvements) for the standard PTU.

Welcome to the forums and congrats on the new ride.
  23. The rain sensor is on the windshield behind the rear view mirror, near the center but to the passenger side. It is under a black plastic cover. As far as I know, if the sensor is removed from the windshield it will require a new clear silicone adhesive when re-installing it.
