  1. Yes, there is a buton on 2015+ models to turn off interior lights when doors are open, but Dark mode also disables the exterior lights from coming on with the doors. You can also enable an option for it in the instrument cluster (named "Silent Mode") to enable/disable dark mode whenever you want. Good when washing/cleaning the car.
  2. Part 2 of 3 New info from the video: @0:54-0:56 Dedicated traction control off button next to the headlight switch with 4 mode selectable advance track. @2:01 The PTU is water to air cooled.
  3. How come new unread posts from the "Super News Ticker" do not show up in the "View New Content" section? At least for me it does not!
  4. @1004ron, It is better than before and it does not heat up at all, that is sure, but it is still not like the bottom. There is still a considerable difference.
  5. First of all, thanks to tmarsh & Paul. Their posts were very helpful and I finally did the mod to the driver's seat. I plan on doing the passenger seat on another weekend. The job, after having actually done 1 seat, is not really hard. Also expect some to get some cuts as others stated when routing the hose, be very careful, the seat frame is sharp & will cause the type of cuts that see after you get them (what I mean is that you'd realize you got the cut after it actually happened because you did not feel that kind of pain). Also, flipping up and back the seat back upholstery turned out to be fairly easy, one issue I should have done better to fix the hose to the exhaust fix piece before installing. These are also a few comments on things I noticed. My Edge already came from the factory with the TSB fix, so the J-Clip mentioned is actually 2 smaller clips. They were short enough that I was able to slide the two sides of each to disconnect it. There is a plastic piece that seems to be a protective piece to protect the back from kicks. Paul mentioned it in his post, here is a picture of it & the pouch it goes into. The 2015 Service Manual does not make any mention of it, so it might be a 2016+ thing. As I already had the sock from the factory, I decided to only use the exhaust fix. I routed the hose to right next the the seat side frame & out through the slot like what Paul did. Only difference is the kit I received had the black hose & I was able to pinch the last 1-2 inches by hand so it will go through the slot. Then at the very end of the hose, I cut about 1/4" of half the opening, my idea is that if the seat cover flap on covering the hose opening, the exhaust air will still have an exit route. This photo is from tmarsh, only added the arrows to show my hose routing. The slot from inside: Hose coming out of the slot: Showing the hose behind the flap cover: Finished look:
  6. I'd ask are you sure it is 5w30? My dealer (the only authorized dealer in the country I live in) was about to use 5w20 oil in my Edge Sport. Even though it had 5w30 written on the oil fill cap, the dealer's Technicians are used to using 5w20 on majority of cars they get. Can you ask Blackstone if the measured viscosity would more in line with 5w20? If yes then that is probably your issue.
  7. Do you happen to have adaptive steering? If yes, did you get the airbag replaced? Or did you get the adaptive steering fault that required fixing? Why I am asking is because if you had the adaptive steering fault & it was fixed under warranty then you have already had a new steering wheel replaced, so it might have additional warranty period on it. Also, in case you had the driver's airbag replaced, on Edges with the adaptive steering, it required the dealer to make two slit on the back of both spokes, so there might have been a mistake that cut the leather? Just a thought as your Edge is relatively new to get such a defect in the leather.
  8. Ok, so I read this post on the F-150 forums and found out that the AFE can also be changed on my Edge. Still didn't try it as I need to calculate the actual mileage for several fill ups to calculate the AFE value. From the F150forums: LOM = Lie-O-Meter, they mean it is the MPG readout. For my Edge, to Engineering Test mode I followed the Lariat and up 8" procedure.
  9. The airbag is installed on the steering wheel & is replaced separately. For the adaptive steering fault, they would be replacing only the steering wheel, not the whole column.
  10. This has been incorporated since the 2011 model, it simply cuts off fuel when decelerating (coasting) since the vehicle's momentum will keep the engine running.
  11. I have seen some on Aliexpress, but don't know of any who tried them on a US Edge. https://m.aliexpress.com/item/32655757974.html?pid=808_0000_0131&spm=a2g0n.search-amp.list.32655757974
  12. PTU is the Power Take-off Unit, basically it is gear-set that transfers engine power to the rear. Think of like the Transfer Case for 4WD vehicles except on the Edge it is always connected and has no low range (one ration only). Search the Forums & you'll find many posts on it. 13. These are replicas 17" Escape wheels: https://m.ebay.com/itm/New-17-Replacement-Wheels-Rims-for-Ford-Escape-2013-2016-Set/332188898090
  14. On the 2015+ models, 18" is the smallest diameter wheel available, maybe the 17" won't clear the brake calipers, anyone confirmed that they fit?
  15. Welcome to the forums & congrats on your ride. To answer your questions: Regular maintenance as per the manual in addition to regular PTU oil change (every 15-20K miles) if you have AWD. See attachment if it helps. Front Active Park Assist Sensors.pdf
  16. Seems to be a very limited recall, only a one day's built vehicles. Summary Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2018 Ford Edge, Lincoln MKX, 2019 Ford Flex, and Lincoln MKT vehicles. The power supply cables at the starter and the alternator may not have been properly secured, possibly resulting in an electrical arc. Remedy Ford will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the alternator and starter motor power supply cables to verify that they are properly secured, correcting them as necessary, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin September 17, 2018. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford’s number for this recall is 18S25. AFFECTED VEHICLES Vehicle Model Year Assembly Plant Build Date 2018 Edge & MKX, 2019 Flex & MKT built on Oakville May 29, 2018 Affected vehicles are identified in OASIS and FSA VIN Lists. REASON FOR THIS SAFETY RECALL In some of the affected vehicles, the generator and starter motor cable nuts may be cross-threaded or may not be fully tightened. An improperly fastened generator or starter motor cable nut increases the potential for electrical arcing, which could lead to a fire. The customer may experience a warning message in the instrument cluster or a vehicle no-start condition. SERVICE ACTION Before demonstrating or delivering any new in-stock vehicles involved in this safety recall, dealers are to inspect the generator and starter motor cable nuts and studs for damage, and verify that the nuts are properly torqued using a torque wrench. This service must be performed on all affected vehicles at no charge to the vehicle owner. Details in this link.
  17. @Chunx4t, thanks for the update.
  18. The 2019 Titanium's optional 20" wheels in my opinion look better.
  19. ForScan showing an error is normal because the last part is a checksum, so when changing any other part it will recalculate it & gives the error warning. So that is normal when doing these mods.
  20. Did you see the Explorer ForScan mods sheet? The 2011-2014 Edge is very close to the 2011-2015 Explorer. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1JHLK2oCBe-E5om9VNeY6e3NwboO9Em0dDBZIgUVyGxc/htmlview#gid=0 https://www.icloud.com/numbers/0AtiYU-yJ4Nrfyfuzp-Mi0l8A#FORScan_2011-2018_Explorers
  21. Not much. But you'll always now it .
  22. Yes, of the line but then that's all the power you get. There is no top end power. When first driving the MKC, it felt really strong in traffic city driving, then I decided to see how much more power it got and found that beyond ~4K RPM there is no more additional power. It's flat. I had more than 1 MKC rentals with the 2.3, they were all the same. They were AWD by the way, just like my MKX was.
  23. I drove a 2015 MKC with the 2.3L Turbo for a week when I had the 2011 MKX 3.7L, the MKX's 3.7L felt more powerful and more refined, can't imagine how the 2.0L would be in a larger vehicle! But then again, that is why there is the "ST".
