Ignore the checksum error, it will correct itself (I'm not sure if it's done by ForScan or the module). As for 7F, my understanding is that your BCM is programmed with a certain fog light setting (low beams in your case) and the BCM would not allow you to change (the error you're getting), by setting the "7F" it is like your telling the BCM to accept other fog light settings, then you can change it.

@ben senise, why look at an MKC? The Edge can have it as a factory option part of the "Cargo Accessory Package". So you might find an Edge with it at a dealer.

From the "requires too much power", i'd suspect the cable. Try the original cables that came with the phone.

So today I figured out 2 more mods: 1st, is the country of the IPC: 720-04-02: XXXX xx - US default is 5553. On my Edge it was 5141. So what I found changing it is that I get different language options for the IPC. Like I had English (UK), French & Arabic, while US will get English (US), Spanish & French. Also, with English (UK) the door open warning states Door "Open" instead of "Ajar" for US. Just some language differences. 2nd: This is probably only a Sync 2 (MFT) thing: 7D0-01-01: xxxX xxxx xx - My default was "A", adding 4 changed it to "E", when you turn off the ignition you usually get a quick Ford logo shutdown animation on the MFT 8" screen, with this edit, you'll instead get a black screen with the date & time that will remain there for a while or until you lock the vehicle. Note that the date format depends on the MFT language pack, since mine has the EU pack the date is in EU format (month in the middle).

ForScan doesn't work on all aftermarket cameras. Your purchased Camera is probably not OEM. OEM cameras are very expensive.

What version of MyFord Touch do you have?

ford.owner.site stopped showing any updates for MFT for some time now. The only official way to update it to go to a dealer. Alternatively, you can find the files & download them for other sources. As far as I know, there are no real advantages for V3.10 over V3.8. Here is one source, you'll need the US version.

Fords with BLIS don't come with the convex inserts, as far what I have seen. But it seems that we also got a difference here as my Edge also has the driver side convex mirror, like the passenger side (with BLIS).

It is better to check the version in the settings' system information. Compare the version number to this list.

Doesn't your Edge have MyFord Touch (aka Sync 2)? The discussion here is regarding Sync 3,the newer system that came on 2016+ Edges which is completely different from previous years. If your your still on V2.3 from the old system, then the latest upgrades to the old system do really fix bugs & stability issues.
