May I also add, as far as i know, in case you don't have rain sensing wipers (or they are disabled), then the regular intermittent speeds are probably speed sensitive. From the Owners manual:
-
If the wiper stalk has "AUTO" written on it then it has auto wipers. Also in the left screen cluster display, there should be an option under settings to enable/disable it and there would be a sensor on the windshield behind the rear view mirror on the passenger side.
-
If there is no coolant, the fail safe cooling system should kick in when engine temperature is high.
-
If water is that high, I think it could also damage all wheel bearings & the rear diff (AWD). So it would still be a no go regardless of AWD or FWD.

MKX'ers: What year(s) have a glove box light?
omar302 replied to chefduane's topic in 2011 Edge & MKX
Here are photos I just took. Hope they give you a clear picture. Just realized I forgot to take a picture before trying to remove the switch . But you get the idea from the 1st pic. -
You should be able to use 9011 (high beam bulbs) in 9012 housings in the same way 9005 are used in 9006. Much shorter life, but also a significant upgrade.

Also make sure the notches on the caliper align correctly to the nipples on the pads. -
I was going for a new 2013 Taurus Limited when I found my 6 months old ~2k miles MKX for less price. More luxurious with more features & had 6 months longer warranty balance. It was a great deal.

2008 to 2011 model stereo/nav swap

If possible, it will be difficult. I'd suggest you get one of those Kenwood or Pioneer units that give you everything including Android Auto & Apple CarPlay. -
MKX'ers: What year(s) have a glove box light?
omar302 replied to chefduane's topic in 2011 Edge & MKX
My 2011 has a light in the glove box. Checking the part number, it's not really expensive. Also the same switch is used in the 2011+ Explorer & MKS. http://www.tascaparts.com/oe-ford/8a5z14413a -

2011 Lincoln MKX Temperature Control Problem
omar302 replied to mikenlaura's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
It is a touch sensitive panel. I guess it would either work or not if it was a loose connection. Removing the panel is not really difficult. This gives you an idea what it looks like from the back. The first minute in this video shows how to remove it, very simple:- 19 replies

If you don't have NAV, then you should not have any problems. If both, the Fusion & and Edge have NAV, then also no problems, in case the Fusion did NOT have Nav but the Edge does, there is a small chance of losing NAV. That's what I understood from this whole update becoming dealer only. Also, note that there is a 3.10 version available at dealers. So if you are still under warranty, just take it to the dealer to get the 3.10 version.

2011 Lincoln MKX Temperature Control Problem
omar302 replied to mikenlaura's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
Try cleaning the passenger side (-) temp button, it seems like it is being pressed. You can also try a battery disconnect to reset the electronics. Last suggestion if it still doesn't work is try to clean the button from behind after removing the panel.- 19 replies

The module programming or AsBuilt data is different for 2015+ Edge & 2016+ MKX. They now follow the newer Ford "system", so they are similar to 2013+ Fusion, 2015+ F150, 2016+ Explorer... Etc. These are the ADB values for 2015+ Edge: BdyCM 726-41-02 0001 0000 0071 (Double Honk Enabled, Default) BdyCM 726-41-02 0000 0000 0070 (Double Honk Disabled) # 4th/12th digit number is 1: double honk enabled # 4th/12th digit number is 0: double honk disabled

The compass in the MFT screen represents a ball compass, like what Akirby stated, it is correct. See the below video & see how when the car is pointing South & turns to the right (West) the compass turns the the other way to indicate the correct direction (East). The directions on the compass are located in the correct positionfor a ball compass. https://youtu.be/r7DPEskWlrk

I don'thave an iPhone but with my HTC 10 messages are received & read out on MFT version 3.10. Also the envelope icon does appear, but it is actually a notification of unread messages, so once they are read it goes away.

Just remember that the fans are different between models with & without the factory towing package. Also models with the towing package have 2 relays instead of one.
