Just wondering what your owner's manual says the action should be when remote starting and then getting into the vehicle.
-
I looked at those using the link you posted. My 2013 says the back up bulbs are a 921, and according to that link those lights will not work in my Edge. Then again, I also checked for the 2007 model thinking maybe your lights were different, but that link also said it was not compatible with your 2007. These bulbs say they replace the T-10 bulbs. Am I looking at the wrong bulbs or do they in fact replace the 921 bulbs? I really like the difference I see in you pictures and would like to install these or something similar in my 2013.

I have had the memory mode set ever since I purchased the car new two years ago. It doe not prevent the first menu display from changing to a different display usually after I reset the trip 1 mode.
-
Mine does the same thing, usually noticed after I reset Trip 1 info after refueling. The first screen which I leave with RPM, Water Temp, and Fuel Gage will quite ofter revert back to the first menu choice of Distance to Empty instead of the third one that I always leave it in. Then again, many of us still have the ambient lighting that reverts back to the default color and intensity after so many ignition switch cycles. Ford has no remedy for this known fault yet either.

Always sad to hear something like this. I recognized the forum name but never really interacted with him as far as I remember. Thoughts and prayers for any family he left behind.

2015 Ford Edge Introduced - Edge Going Global
ls973800 replied to LI Edge's topic in Articles, News & Reviews
I don't think you are missing out on anything. I followed that link and changed it to watch how to adjust the lift gate on a 2013 Edge. It took me to videos posted by Ford about the Edge and sure enough there was one listed there for the lift gate. Only problem? Just like the link and video tht was posted for the 2014 "Edge" here, it really isn't an Edge at all! Our lift gates do not have the close button anywhere on the bottom of the lift gate as shown in the video. It is a push button located inside the cargo area on the driver's side. Also, the button to press when opening from the outside is not in the recess where the video shows it to be, as we don't have two openings in the lift gate on the outside as shown! Ford needs to proof read their own videos posted and make sure the car they are giving tutorials about are actually the correct cars. Just to see what happens with the Edge, I tried to adjust my gate as per their video, using the only buttons my Edge has and not the nonexistent ones shown in the video. It did not readjust. Has anyone actually been able to adjust their gate to open to a different height on an Edge? -

2013 Edge MFT Navagation Issues
ls973800 replied to funhouse69's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
This is a HUGE Safety issue that showed up when I was using the Navigation System for what it is designed for - giving me directions to an address that I've never been to. It actually took me the wrong way off the highway and couldn't make up its mind in its "Off Route" messages and almost caused me to get in an accident trying to look at the screen and figure out where I was supposed to go. How is this Not a Safety Issue? If / when someone gets in an accident because of this lawyers are going to have a field day. Why or how is it a safety issue? First off, if you couldn't tell what to do because of the navigation, instead of driving you should have pulled over. If you had been in an accident and hit someone else, you are correct, the lawyers would have a field day. Unfortunately for you, they would be suing you for inattentive driving! The device also has verbal instructions which don't require you to look at the screen when using the guidance to an address. Anyone with common sense knows better than to follow the directions from any navigation device which doesn't even show them on a road. Here are at least 8 drivers who should pay more attention to the road rather than what a device is telling them to do, even disregarding road signs warning of roads closed! http://theweek.com/article/index/243813/8-drivers-who-blindly-followed-their-gps-into-disaster So you are telling me that the multi-thousand dollar piece of crap that I bought with my Edge should be less reliable? I also have a 2013 Edge, and the navigation was an option which was included in a package with additional items. If I wanted just the radio with the navigation, it had a sticker price of $795.00, not the multi-thousand you say yours cost! Anyone have any thoughts / suggestions on recourse? First, I am sorry to hear you are having problems. There is no need embellish what happens and say you almost got into an accident. Did you run off the road, almost slam into another car, run a red light, what? That as I have mentioned is nothing more than driver error. Second, try the battery disconnecting which has worked for numerous people with similar problems. A free fix which may be the end of your problems hopefully. When I first got my Edge there were times I was ready to put my fist through the navigation screen because of issues. Turned out, 99% of those issues were because of something I said or did. Good luck- 35 replies

I was about to order the Kuda mount and holder for my Galaxy S4 but really couldn't justify over $125.00 after shipping for the two pieces. I saw this post and started looking at the Steelie mount, which I found on Amazon for just under $25.00 with free shipping. I then read some of the reviews, and common complaints were that the adhesive failed often in high heat. I live in the Dallas area so that is a concern. There were also reports of the magnet actually interfering with the internal motherboard of the phone and the GPS. Makes sense since electronics and magnets usually don't play well together. Other comments were about putting the phone in a pocket once the magnet is attached to the phone. The end result was some owner's having their credit card, debit cards, hotel key cards, etc wiped clean because of the magnet. It was also noted the base is best if it is placed on a flat surface, not a vertical one. If used on a vertical surface, you have to make sure you place the magnet on the balance point or center of gravity on the phone. Otherwise, the phone will not hang straight, or you can not turn it for landscape view without it moving during normal driving. If placed on a flat surface, you are limited with the angle that the phone will rotate or stand. I guess for under $25.00 it may be an option. I'm not sure if possible damage to the phone, or limited placement of the base, is worth it. I might just continue using the large cup holder to house the phone, that's been the cheapest phone holder I've found so far!

2013 Edge MFT Navagation Issues
ls973800 replied to funhouse69's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
Similar problem with the F150 trucks that have changed tires to a larger size. The quickest and cheapest fix they found to work in almost every case has been to disconnect the battery for about 1/2 hour. I'm not sure if you changed your tire size, but this is worth a try. Plenty of posts on the F150 forums about this actually working when the dealer service departments could not resolve the issue.- 35 replies

Year by Year changes in the edge since 2011
ls973800 replied to mjbaker84's topic in 2013 Edge & MKX
Here's how I always compare the same model but different years to see if anything has changed, or what is or isn't standard. In this case, just type in "2011 Ford Edge Brochure" into a Google search. The Ford online version of the sales brochure is shown as one of the results. http://www.ford.com/services/assets/Brochure?make=Ford&model=Edge&year=2011&postalCode=55401 Now just do the same for whatever other year you want to compare, or in this case the 2013 model. http://www.ford.com/services/assets/Brochure?make=Ford&model=Edge&year=2013&postalCode=43566 Have fun, and let us know what you find out! -
I'm not sure what you would need if you are also needing to install a wheel spacer to fit your wheels. Best option is to contact the company selling the wheel spacers and give them all three of the center bore sizes you have mentioned. The vehicle (63.4), the wheel spacer (70.5), and the aftermarket wheels you want to put on (73.1).
-
It is correct that the 2011 and up Edges use a smaller center bore than the 2010 and older Edges. In order to put a larger wheel center bore onto your 2011 or newer Edge, you need to reduce that center bore down to the 63.4 or whatever the size is. You can check to see if you can find any hub centric rings such as these that I am putting a link to. I just used that link as an example of what you need, I have never dealt with that or any other company selling or making the hub centric rings. https://www.motorsport-tech.com/hub_rings.html

2007 Edge Tie Rod End Replacement...Torque Specs?

Don't ask the parts department...
ls973800 replied to chrisbritt1995's topic in Dealership & Vendor Experiences
There are several options you have if you want to install the vertical (fog) lights in the front of your Edge. 1) Check the posts in the Glass, Lenses, Lighting section for topics relating to DRL's or Brightlights. There is a company (Brightlights.com) that has been making very nice daytime running lights that take the place of those factory vertical lights. Even if your car came without them, his kit will fit with no problem, and includes all wires, control box, etc. I installed his kit and am extremley pleased with the looks, function, and service Dan provided. I don't think you will find any bad reviews about him or his product. 2) Look on the forum and find the Sponsors section. Levittown Ford Super Center is a dealership selling Ford parts at a good discount. You can contact Benny with any questions regarding part numbers, prices, etc. 3) Check the Classified section. I think there was a post recently about someone wanting to sell their front vertical lights. I don't know if they had the DRL's kit, or just the factory lights. Good luck and make sure you come back and post what you ended up doing.- 1 reply

Instead of calling the dealerships, I think you will have to take it in and have a mechanic actually take a look at it. I would think it would be very hard to diagnose over the phone unlike other more common mechanical failures. A service rep on this forum can help you set up an appointment, but they would not be able to tell you what is wrong with it. It's a 2013 you should still have factory warranty correct? Unless you are over the 36000 mile limits.

Interior Ambient Lighting
ls973800 replied to tamugrad2013's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
Rebecca, if I was a little harsh with my reply to your post, I apologize. Using the title "In-Vehicle Technology Team" sounds to me like a group of Ford employees who have actual hands on, and access to, any technology question or problem an owner might have. It also sounds like this "team" would be in the know about all things technology wise, and the latest fixes for problems, or the lack of fixes for problems. Or at least be able to go up the chain and find those answers for an owner. Basically, this team can help with using the equipment, answer basic questions of how something is supposed to work, or advise owners to contact a dealer for more in depth questions regarding repairs, updates, fixes, etc. -
2014 Cup Holders - no rubber liner?
ls973800 replied to DavidE's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
My 2013 Limited came with the rubber cup "cushions" in the two cup holders on the console. Running the A/C almost 10 months of the year, and always having a plastic bottle or cup in one of the holders, I always got condensation in the cup holder. I posted my solution (for under $1.00) here. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/13926-80-cents-cup-holder-mod/ -
Interior Ambient Lighting
ls973800 replied to tamugrad2013's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
Wow, that sure is 100% off course compared to what was previously posted by an In-Vehicle Technology Team member who was at least appearing to be helpful. This is an issue that needs to be investigated by your service garage; there's a data retention error in the Accessory Protocol Interface Module (APIM) that will likely require some reprogramming. At least Antonio gave what he believed was the problem and a possible solution (APIM that will likely require some reprogramming). You would think with all the reports of the ambient lighting doing the same thing for so many owner's, an In-Vehicle tech could do better than saying call your dealer! Antonio posted his reply over 7 months ago! The In Vehicle Technology team couldn't research this problem to have a more owner friendly answer than call your dealer? If Rebecca had replied that there is no known fix yet, that would have been more helpful than call your dealer! Why contact your dealer to see if they have a fix for this yet when it is FORD that would issue the fix? I would think the In Service Technology Team would be able to get answers from FORD easier than owners getting answers from service departments of dealerships. -

This is what I remember reading about the ambient light problem and a fix. Might want to check with the Ford In Vehicle Technology Team using the contact listed at the end of the copied post. I never followed through on my 2013 Limited with the same ambient lighting problem as mentioned here. Posted 21 November 2013 - 03:41 PM Hello all, I'm Antonio. I'm new to this forum, but I'll be providing tech support for SYNC, MyFord and MyFord Touch. This erratic behavior with the ambient lighting has been documented and recognized by our Tech Hotline - the folks who provide workshop support for the on-site Ford technicians. This is an issue that needs to be investigated by your service garage; there's a data retention error in the Accessory Protocol Interface Module (APIM) that will likely require some reprogramming. I believe there is a fix, but you have to take it to the dealership to have it done. -
There is a new A5 card just released in the last month or so. I don't know how much has been updated compared to the A4. The card also has the info for the Grace-notes, but I don't know if that has been updated or not. I believe dealers are selling for $120.00 plus shipping. May be higher or lower depending on the dealer. Many owner's have purchased the new A5 card from sellers on eBay with no problem. They have been new in the box, unopened for under $50.00 I follow several other Ford forums, and no one has had a problem with the eBay cards.

I know that my 2013 Limited had the 18" chrome plated as the standard wheel. The 20" ones were an option that cost right around $1000.00 Your model for 2010 may have been the same way. Not sure about your cruise control on the steering wheel, but mine has an on and off button. If you don't have the owner's manual, maintenance manual, etc, here is a link for the on line manuals provided by Ford for your 2010 model. http://owner.ford.com/servlet/ContentServer?pagename=Owner/Page/OwnerGuidePage&year=2010&make=Ford&model=Edge
