    This is a video on the DIY on how to remove and install new struts on you ford edge. Model shown is the 2011 Ford Edge LImited FWD with about 130K miles on it at the time. The strut bearing mounts are motorcraft and the struts are KYB excel G struts, which are a firmer strut when compared the Monroes.

    No. The wheels are balanced individually on a machine in my case an individual wheel does not balance well and requires an extraordinary amount of weight

    LOL I have no idea how I managed to hit the marked as solved button and can not undo it? Anyway as to the question. Thanked her and then went on to explain how safety boots will allow her to keep her toes. Foot protection class was in session.

    You can dye the tranny fluid to verify it is transmission fluid leaking. but based on what I know from this type of leak it is not the transmission. Look to the left and up and you will see the rear main seal to the engine shaft is located there. My assumption is if it is not transmission fluid you have a leaking rear main seal on your engine.

    Singled out at a safety meeting by an employee that owns a Ford Edge. She apparently watched some of my videos and discovered it was me. I never mix my MAC T with employees or clients but apparently the cat is out of the bag so to speak.

    Curious, was it the actual mechanical part of the throttle body or the electronic controller?

    Wonder if the hotsy power wash will blast the chrome cladding right off when applied to the back of the wheel? I guess I may find out.

    I have not had a chance to address the wheel that has the issues of balancing. I may take it off at the shop and power wash the HE double hockey sticks out of it and see if it re-balances better. If not then I am guessing that Ford let some out of balance poorly QA'ed wheel slip through. I may check out some junk yards for wheels also to see if I can find a match with less weights on the wheel.

    use jack stands also with the hydraulic jack as back up. No need to die under your Edge.

    If you need a supervisor for the plug work WWW will fly down and provide said job assistance. LOL. Make sure the engine is cold when you start working out the plugs and reinstalling.

    Moisture sure is the enemy. Does not cause braking issues although noisy. The rear dampers will stop the noise although you my hear a really low growling sound until you stop the first time or so. Squeaky you will not be said Yoda.

    So far this Odyssey Extreme battery has me extremely happy. Going to install one in MOMOSHA's car.

    I have one wheel that was out of balance when I installed the snow tires and it took 5-6 oz of weight to balance it. Then when I just had the new duelers installed that same wheel was out of balance by 6-7 oz. I am thinking the chrome clad wheels are hiding road grime and dirt and causing balancing issues.

    I replaced the motorcraft 540 cca battery that was about 19 months old and dead or dying with an Odyssey Extreme 65-PC1750 AGM deep cycle 950 CCA battery. My Edge has never started so fast!!! Great battery and you can say good bye to lazy cold winter starts.

    Front cowling removal provides access to the strut fasteners and also access to the windshield wiper motor assembly and this is the video on how I removed and reinstalled the cowling when I had to change out my front struts.

    New front struts were great to drive with today. Very level on turns and provided great feel of sure grip and stability. I guess I was just used to the dipping and leaning. Always nice to get new struts and shocks. Ends up making your car feel like new again. I recommend the KYB Excel G struts and shocks.

    Test drive done for today 475 miles and everything is operating great. I have determined the faulty voltage regulator and weakened battery were most likely causing most of the motorized controls in the Edge to operate poorly. i.e. actuators etc did not move properly to allow the HVAC system to route air flow. Now everything is working. This also affected my cell phone, IPad, GPS and dashcams to a point not to charge and worked on low power sucking the juice out of the battery and causing it to discharge rapidly due to low charging or loss of charge to the battery from the voltage regulator.. Overall not one time did the check battery light pop up on the dash yet the voltage regulator had failed, but I assume it had failed in such a manner to provide just enough power not to send a signal and resulted in discharged battery with no warning light. I can see how this would fool a Technician if the technician would only check the battery for voltage and CCA's this replace and send you on your way as a bad battery but not having the inquisitive nature to follow through on why the battery had prematurely failed. Overall everything is working and my Cell phone and Ipad were able to be charged in my car today. SUCCESS!!!

    All videos put on hold..... :cry: all my USB and computer hard drives are FULL!! Waiting for some new ones to arrive. Might be time to upgrade to a newer computer....but will have to wait. USB will arrive Monday but I will be out of state in Indiana test driving Lullubelle after all the repairs, well not really test driving working....but I like to think of it as a test drive.

    I bought my struts from Rockauto and the bearing mounts also. I just finished a video on the install of struts and sway bar links for Lullubelle. Plus she got new belts and an new alternator married up with an AGM battery. All soon to be posted.
