From the owners manual: With my 2011 MKX, I always reset it to 50% and consistently get the reminder at 5000 miles. For me it is so consistent that I don't believe it takes any thing into consideration except for distance. Also note that were I live we get extremely high weather, easily 120+ for most of the summer. Also our driving is an extreme city cycle.

As you mentioned & found out, the MKX uses a module with a theromelectric element & a fan. It actually uses the Peltier effect. There are no heating pads. I do not recall there being a timer for it, nor do I remember it ever cutting off. I'd guess you have something wrong with the seat climate module which controls both seats and it's the reason it is cutting off.

How To Replace Side Mirror?
omar302 replied to Osiris1975's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
EBay is usually a very good source for good used parts. But, looking at your photos, that broken plastic piece doesn't seem to be present in other mirrors! Are sure that is something original? You had your car since new? maybe a previous owner changed it? There are 2 types of mirrors for 2011, early builds had the larger mirror (similar to 2007-2010) while the newer builds got the smaller mirror. Both don't show that extra plastic trim! Ventilated/cooled seats in the 2016 fixed?
omar302 replied to mjonis's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
There is supposed to be a new TSB to fix it for the 2015/16 Edge & 2016 Explorer. Check this thread. -
Off topic, but somehow related, the courtesy wipe on the 2007 Avalon was speed dependent, the faster you drove, the earlier the courtesy wipe activated until you reached a certain speed when then the courtesy wipe would not activate. Talk about details. On topic, on the 2011 & newer Edge/MKX, the feature can be disable in the instrument cluster & is also available in the body control module. Maybe a dealer can disable it through IDS. Note: After using the washer the wiper would wipe 3 times, pause, then courtesy wipe, if I manually make a wipe immediately after the 3 wipes then I wouldn't get the courtesy wipe after the pause. If you dislike the courtesy wipe due to its timing, may this would help.

I am sure there are changes in the PTU for the 2015/2016 Edge, but I'd be more inclined to say it's closer to the old design (pre 2015). This part number "DG1Z7251D" is specified for the 2015 Edge with hit climate (I think GCC) but is also the exact same part for the 2013-2015 Explorer & Taurus (with hot climate), so if one variant of the PTU for the 2015/16 Edge is a direct part for the older Explorer/Taurus, then I'd say the main AWD system is also similar. Note: part numbers for other variants of the PTU for the 2015/16 Edge seem to be unique to the 2015/16 Edge, so there is definitely some change.

There is an older post with some photos: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/15547-any-one-have-pics-of-husky-mud-guards-installed/?do=findComment&comment=119427 I had them on my MKX, honeslty, they do the job but they are very long, kinda too long to look correct & they scraped a lot for me when driving off paved roads or small curbs/speed bumps.

2016 Edge Sport Map lights
omar302 replied to Suresh Roopnarine's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
I don't know how to change them or even if it is possibly as they are LEDs already. Check the owners manual & it states all interior lights are LED. I think the only regular (incandescent) bulbs on the 2015+ Edge are the low & high beams (base models), DRL, front signals & rear license plates. Here is a link the owners manual for the bulb specifications. -
It is definitely not mentioned in the owner's manual for the 2007-2014 models. I knew about it in the 2011+ Explorer. I thought it was due to the Edge having the old system with the power strut as an add on to the liftgate, the 2011+ Explorer doesn't have it.
-
I am not aware of any procedure to do that in the 2007-2014 Edge (2007-2015 MKX). They did add the feature to the new 2015/2016 Edge.

Anything programmable or Forscan knows about is probably already translated, meaning Forscan will give the the options to change the program for it, like the DRL. The other lines are unknown, except ofcours by the manufacturer. Some have compared the As bult data between similar vehicles with different options & would find out what some difference would mean, but it is a long process. The USB link from Scantool (OBDLink SX) does not support MS-CAN, so it would be better to go for the Bluetooth MX. (There is no USB version for the MX, only wifi & Bluetooth).

Ford Edge Driver Door Latch recall?
omar302 replied to Latrece370's topic in Recalls, TSBs & Warranty
Though I agree it is a crappy design, many don't face the problem. Also Ford updated the switch (Part number ending with B replaced A), so replacements should be better. Also, as per the latest TSB, the fix has to do with some electrical/heating fix. Also now there are alternative aftermarket parts. http://www.amazon.com/APDTY-Integrated-Driver-Side-7T4Z7821813C-8T4Z7821813A/dp/B00QB4EWQC/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1461901118&sr=8-5&keywords=ford+edge+door+latch http://www.amazon.com/Dorman-937-628-Door-Lock-Actuator/dp/B00HRSSSCA/ref=pd_sim_sbs_263_1?ie=UTF8&dpID=4132Xo8I1gL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR160%2C160_&refRID=04PQ6Q6G39ZDBV2V7VE3 -
Ford Edge Driver Door Latch recall?
omar302 replied to Latrece370's topic in Recalls, TSBs & Warranty
You have a 2013, even if it was purchased used from a non-Ford dealer, it might still be under warranty if it was originally purchased mid/late 2013 & mileage is under 36K miles. -
Thanks Haz for the input. So 2 issues are now clear, the DRLs are activated by shifting out of "P" and they remain on with the parking lights. The difference is that I have the DRLs activated on the Fog lights, so I'd like someone with Fog lights as DRLs to confirm regarding the indicator to make sure it is normal or is it from the Forscan software. I also used the same software on a 2015 Expedition & got the same results.

1) Motorcraft oil is good. It is made for & recommended by Ford. 2) Most people would recommend changing the tranny fluid earlier, ~50K miles. Best to use the oil specified in the Owners Manual (Motorcraft Mercon LV). 3) Yes, there is no Fuel Filter to replace. I think the filter is part of the Fuel Pump, that might be why it is not a maintenance item. Since you used 5W-30 Engine oil, I guess you have the 2.0 L 4 cylinder Engine, correct? The transmission is different between the 6 & 4 cylinder engines so take care regarding the correct procedure for changing the fluid. It might be different. Edit: Just saw Akirby's post, go for 60K then as per his buddy's recommendation.

A question for anyone with a 2011-2015 Lincoln MKX with DRL enabled as the fog lights, does the fog light indicator in the instrument panel turn on whenever the DRL fog lights are on? I enable DRL fog lights on my 2011 MKX using the Forscan software, now the fog light indicator turns on whenever the DRL is on. Also DRL comes on whenever the transmission shifter is out of "P" and the head lights are off. Even when the parking lights only are on, the DRL fog lights will turn on. Just would like to know if that it the factory setup for DRL fog lights if they were enabled through the IDS.

Good luck welpse & thanks for the update. So then what does the full Android version have over the Demo? Also, note that the beta windows version has some "programming" functions, like DRL, but you'll need the extended license (2-months) which is currently free.

If you have the optional 21" wheels maybe try the 20" wheels instead like what enigma-2 suggested. Also with the 21" wheels you might have the summer tire option, which are sportier & hence I think would be harder.

Forscan.org has a free software that do some programming. Using an adaptor like the ScanTool OBDlink MX you can access a lot of things with Ford vehicles. Note that a main advantage of the MX is access to both HS-Can & MS-Can on Fords.

Congrats & welcome to the forum.

It's a 2014 model, the struts should still be fine. Most probable cause is that the a button (dash, cargo or fob) was mistakenly pressed for closing the door. Also note that the lift gate an Obstacle detection feature, from the manual:
-
Yes. It is normal.

Can't say for the tranny or steering, you should go by what the Owners Manual specifies for your specific model year. mact is an expert with the Edge, especially the early models, he put more than 250k miles on his.
