  1. The vanity mirror lights (on the sun visors) are also incandescent bulbs, not LED.
  2. A member here, @Ghhuff, did the swap on his 2017 Edge (should be similar to your 2018. The HID headlights do swap in directly, but they also require some software changes, using ForScan to change a few As Built Parameters. Here is the thread.
  3. The issue is that if your parked next to a large vehicle (SUV, Pickup ...etc.) your view would be blocked until you are half way backed up.
  4. I'd also say it is like what akirby stated, cost cutting. But I think it started with the fact that the tech 1st came in 2016 and at that time the new generation Edge had already been introduced, in other words it missed the tech, but they should have added it in the refresh (2019). Another reason might be the fact that the Explorer is designed with police duty in consideration and they do have a sort of rear surveillance system. I wish we could find a lens of sort that can be put on the rear camera that would widen the view.
  5. I found this also, not sure if it will help as I don't really know this issue: Tuner Region 727-02-01 x*xx xxxx xxzz 0=NA (North America), 1=GCC, 2=Japan, 3=Europe, 4=Asia Pacific
  6. Just confirm with the seller that it is the latest version. I don't know which part number it should be, but it is worth checking as Ford made many updates over the years.
  7. Boost Gauge is now available in the ST. Transmission indicator, the new Ranger has a similar gauge setup as the Edge, and it has the gear indicator as a vertical line (similar to the F-150) on the right instrument screen. Hopefully these can somehow be ported to the Edge someday.
  8. The Edge has a regular (single View) rear camera. Even the 2019. Unfortunately the split view (180 degree) camera is not yet available for the rear. it is for the front only when equipped with a front camera.
  9. The 2016 Explorer got the rear split view camera with washer. It was disappointing that Ford did not implement both features on the Edge. Also Nick, please notice that @JCrew7384 was referring to this feature on his own Explorer that he personally used. It was not highlighted a lot as most of the talk was about the Front Camera, but it is there. This is from the 2016 Explorer Brochure:
  10. Checking KBB, the price difference between a 2016 Edge Sport with all the options and an MKX Reserve is less than $3k. When new, the price difference was more than $15k (MSRP well equipped AWD).
  11. I haven't driven Nautilus (Previously MKX), but they are basically an Edge with a softer ride & nicer interior. The Nautilus can be had with either 2.0 or 2.7 engines which the same as the regular & ST Edge. Generally they also depreciate faster.
  12. Ford hasn't offered any other color for the Sport since at least 2015. Same thing with the Fusion Sport & Explorer Sport. Seems like it is Ford's "Sport" theme and if you want the stronger/bigger engine with the nicer interior, go for a Lincoln.
  13. I haven't seen the manual myself, but I remember reading here a member stating that boost was limited during break-in, for 1000 miles or so. Edit: Found the post I was referring to. it was based on his observation.
  14. I also couldn't find anything stating that ANC only works with radio off. Even testing it with radio at a low volume comparing it to "off", the engine noise is the same. However, reading in the service manual, it does state that ANC would turn off in case a door or the liftgate is open. So testing it (in a closed/controlled area ?) does show the difference between ANC on or off. Information and Entertainment System - System Operation and Component Description sony.pdf
  15. There is no such code. You can remove the battery with no worries, the radio will work after reconnecting the battery.
  16. Don't remember seeing it before, but would you please link to the 2015? The only ones I found where for the Chinese Edge (3-row) with the taller roof line.
  17. Just got my Edge back from the dealer, and they supposedly updated a few modues, IPC, RGTM, FCIM at my request due to some issues. Now I had a log using ForScan before & after and both are the same. I am sure they did something to the IPC because the ABD was restored to stock & I had to re-apply all the ForScan changes I want. If the module was updated, should the below info match in before & after the update? RGTM - Rear Gate/Trunk Module Bus: MSCAN Part number: DG9T-14B673-BB Strategy : DG9T-14C121-BB IPC - Instrument Panel Control Module Bus: HSCAN3 Part number: GT4T-10849-DB (latest known: GT4T-10849-DC) Strategy : GT4T-14C026-CB Calibration: GT4T-14C088-CB FCIM - Front Controls Interface Module Bus: MSCAN Part number: GT4T-18E245-FC (latest known: HT4T-18E245-FF) Strategy : GT4T-14G121-FB Calibration: GT4T-14G122-FB
  18. I think it is because the FWD doesn't have the AWD system it has a regular tank, think square shape, whereas with the AWD the tank is kinda like 2-tanks merged at the top to clear the AWD system. So with FWD they made the biggest tank that works with a single Fuel Pump, but with AWD, since they already had 2 pumps, they added a bit more capacity.Link to the diagrams. This is the FWD Tank: This is the AWD Tank:
  19. Yes, AWD had a bit bigger tank. I was able to get a bit more than 70 liters (18.5 gallons) several time in my AWD 2011 MKX. From the 2011 MKX Owners Guide: For 2016 the difference between AWD & FWD is minor:
  20. Just a thought, if you are not able to buy a PTU for a pre 2015 with a drain plug (Middle East spec), would a PTU from a 2015+ with a drain plug fit? Would that be an option for those in the US?
  21. Same here. Maximum I filled was the equivalent of about 17 gallons. Unlike the 2011 I had before where I actually once even filled up a tiny bit more than advertised fuel tank capacity.
  22. I don't think that is normal. Better have it checked by a dealer.
  23. With no Fusion/MKZ/Continental to share costs, it doesn't seem to make a good business as no other product uses the transverse V6 EcoBoost (2.7/3.0). I'd like to think that the next generation Edge/Nautilus (if they still exist) would be based on the Explorer/Aviator. Kind of like how the new Honda Passport is essentially a 2 row Pilot.
  24. I didn't find any mention of the FWD based 2.7 & 3.5 EcoBoost engines getting the new setup. Even Ford's website for the Edge & Explorer show direct injection only with no mention of port injection.
  25. The 2019 Explorer Sport is at least 4k more than the Edge ST, even though it has less tech features & is based on a very old platform, so expect the all new Explorer ST to be considerably higher when equipped similarly to an Edge ST. Performance wise, even though it will be heavier, but being based on a new RWD platform and with the 10 speed auto, the tuning on the engine might give an edge over the Edge ST even in a straight line. The police version tested by Michigan State police was quick in a straight line and on a track than 5.7L Dodge Chargers.
