  1. Pretty sure it is your fans. Never heard of a PCM issue not even once. Always the fans that fail. Strongly recommend OEM replacement otherwise you will be unhappy with aftermarket. Tend to not work or fail quickly.
  2. Ditto on the fans. Never heard of PCM issue. Always a fan failure.
  3. I do not see tool marks so most likely an unlucky coincidence.
  4. AC drain plug clogged? Shot in the dark on this. Does water drain outside onto the pavement when AC is operating? IF no water then you have a clogged drain plug.
  5. I think you have already confirmed the problem. Just need to install a new fan assembly.
  6. Ditto New axle for you tone ring is cracked! Buy the OEM motorcraft. Pot luck with after market brands.
  7. I of course made a simultaneous video, but in English. Still don't know what she is say when she is mad at me.
  8. MOMOSHA got involved with this video and did it the only way she knows how. Expertly!!
  9. You have three mounts to check upper one is easy on the passenger side the drivers side is below the air box and battery tray harder to get to. Transmission mount under the Edge and can be check visually by running the transmission from F to R.
  10. Worth a shot to turn it off and then drive to see if anything changes.
  11. I removed the chrome clads in order to lower the maintenance of having to balance the tires due to shifting and accumulated dirt in between the clad and the aluminum wheels. Each spoke has a pocket for dirt to accumulate. Not exactly the pretties of wheels but I am going to apply some paint and make them decent and lower maintenance.
  12. Once you get your alternator tested under load and it is not determined to be the issue you will need to check your grounds for continuity. If ground continuity is not an issue. You will need to then place your multi meter to the battery to determine drain of voltage. There should be a small drain of voltage. I have not tested to see what the acceptable amount of drain is. You then have to locate the source of the HIGH drain and that will be your problem. Just for reference my alternator puts out about 14.2- 14.4 volts when systems are operating and I am driving. As the length of my drive increases and the battery is fully recharged it will drop to about 13 volts at highway speed. I doubt you drive like I do so your target voltage is most likely going to be 14.2 or so.
  13. You should be running 14.1+ or minus for voltage at the alternator. You need a good tester as you can be lured the wrong way with just a voltmeter. You need to trace the negative terminals for body ground and engine ground. Find the fastening points and then remove them and clean the surfaces. Then refasten them to ensure you have a good ground to the body and engine. Rust and corrosion can weaken the ground and cause issues.
  14. Got tired of the accumulated dirt, out of balance situations and corrosion destroying the wheels. So I did this......
  15. I was going too say MYKEY but that runs on speed/mph, but check it anyway.
  16. The stop lamp issue may be an indicator that the brake booster was replaced and they did not replace the stop switch.
  17. I think the title is a bit off. It should read Edge went into Limp mode.
  18. Struts and shocks do not last 170K miles. Once you put on new ones the alignment may be off if it is not already. Besides if you put on new strut bearings you have to remove the struts anyway. You will feel the difference. You just do not know it. Bearings. Wait until failure. That is what I do. You are pretty easy on tires. What brand/model you running to get 80-90K out of tires? As far as brakes for me. 175K for the fronts and 225K for the rears more or less. How's the fluid maintenance? 50-60 k for transmisison 50-60k for power steering 100K for coolant 50-60 K for brake fluid You have obviously change the spark plugs at least once, but appears you will be due in about 10K
  19. Just needed a little tweak. Hopefully that is the end of it.
  20. First> I always replace struts in pairs with new strut bearing mounts. I go with KYB struts or you can go with OEM motor craft. DO NOT USE MONROES!!. Also I chose motorcraft strut bearing mounts. Rear shocks I would go with KYB or OEM also. Rears definitely need to be changed as they will affect alignment. You have aligned it by now right? You can retrofit low frequency brake dampers on the rears with a pin kit and dampers. Does quiet down the brake noise. I would recommend a Autozone Duralast Gold high carbon rotor with the Duralast CMAX ceramic pads. Most likely the last rotors and pads you will ever put on the Edge. Plus quiet and no dust. Unless the calipers rubber boots are bad or cracked I would not worry about it, But if you want to you have two options buy a rebuild kit or buy new or refurbished calipers. I never had brake caliper issues with my 2008 and it ran 285K miles. My last inspection of my 2011 the pins were doing fine at 155K miles so it would be your choice clean relube and install IMO I recommend the CRC or other equivalent type CERAMIC brake grease. High Temp and works great.
  21. You need to just put the wheel back on and drive your Edge. I see nothing wrong. The wheel moves hard because it is a drive axle. Nothing more. Just relax.
  22. At least your alignment was 60 bucks. Mine was a three year so it cost a about 180.00 dollars. But hey I can go back anytime during those three years. So I will go more often now.
  23. I am removing the chrome clads that are glued on with silicone. Mostly due to dirt gathering and wheel balancing issues. I have figured out how to remove them with no damage to the wheel/rim and it only takes a few minutes for each wheel. The clad is not reusable. The corrosion damage done to the rim from salt being held against the rim is rather extensive and requires high speed wire wheels and bead blasting to clean them up. I will be posting the multi part video on how to perform this and then paint the wheels. As far as the fuel filter. it is part of the pump so unless you have issues with the fuel pump do not worry about it.
  24. Those folks will have your PCM fixed in no time. FYI
