I think they added this indicator half through the 2013 model year Edge. I have not seen any mod to add it for 2011-2012 models. Edit: A thread about it. Apparently early 2013 build also did not have it.

The real solution to the double honk is to just use a soft beeper, mmm..., like most other car manufacturers. You get both, a reminder AND not be annoying to others around you. Also, take into consideration that Ford only added this feature midway through 2012, all 2010 & 2011 Ford & Lincoln vehicles with IA key did not have the double honk, how many complaints where there of people forgetting their keys? None that I have seen in any Forum I follow. Never did I also see anyone with a 2011/2012 trying to enable this feature.

You should get an OBD2 scanner to read the codes. It will pay for itself. Also, if the wheels were submerged by water, it is highly recommended (maybe necessary even) to change the PTU & rear diff oils ASAP. Also expect your wheel bearings to wear out much quicker.

If I remember correctly, only the filter cover & tube, not the whole Air filter box, maybe only the tube from the throttle body end. Are you using Internet Explorer? I remember facing the same issue on Internet Explorer, now i'm using Chrome & all is good.
